Recently we had the pleasure of visiting one of our favorite places, Boston. We love to adventure and the sight seeing never gets old. Living in Maine we are about two hours from the city, making it the perfect location for weekend trips. I always look for my new kid friendly activities for us to visit. This trip was filled with so much fun, and the weather was perfect.
Boston Duck Tours
Our first stop was hopping on to a Duck Tour. Every single time I have been to Boston, I see these around the city, little everywhere! Of course, my curiosity was high, and I knew this was an item on our bucket list.
They offer several locations to get on your tour, and we chose the Museum of Science pick up. Outside of the building there was many tours lined up, getting ready to go. You are able to take a picture outside of it before you enter.
We were in the second row, which was perfect for anyone with kiddos. Our guide was hilarious, kept us laughing and even answered Madison’s many questions.
If you ask Madison what her favorite part of the tour was, she would say driving the tour! That’s right, you get to drive, if you would like. Both myself and Madison took a tour driving on the river.
The tour lasted a little over an hour, and I would definitely go back on it.
I think this is the best way to see the city and get information at the same time. We were told they are very busy during the summer months, so booking ahead is best. Head to their website now to book ahead!
Boston Hotel Commonwealth
After a long day of traveling, a duck tour and visiting Faneuil Hall we headed off to our hotel. We were hosted at Hotel Commonwealth. If you have not heard of this hotel, you have been missing out.
A very modern feel in the heart of Boston, right next to Fenway Park. When I say right next to it… I am not kidding. Fenway Park was literally outside of our hotel window.
The hotel offers packages where you can stay & go see a game, which is the perfect opportunity for you baseball fans. Baseball season had not quite started yet when we visited, we were a week off. Featuring on site restaurants, excellent room service options, and a on site gym… this hotel is perfect for any stay.
My favorite part of the hotel was the view from Fenway Terrace. This area is gorgeous and the perfect space for your next function. Lights draped across, the perfect seating and the perfect view. We could have stayed up there all night.
We parked valet right at the hotel, so you don’t have to worry about finding off site parking… or getting a parking ticket. Sorry Boston, I am the total parking ticket offender, valet all the way! We can’t wait to go back and visit, see a game, and have another relaxing stay!
Boston Museum of Science
When I was in 5th grade we took a class trip and visited Boston’s Museum of Science. Can you believe this was the last time that I had visited there? I knew that I wanted Madison to see the museum, and I wanted to see what had changed in all of these years.
We were able to see a live show, view the butterfly garden and see the lightening show. The museum is perfect for those little curious minds.
Grab your tickets to the Museum here!
When traveling we are always making sure to pack enough snacks for the kiddos. Our favorite snack to bring is Whisps! Whisps are gluten free and the perfect snack for your travels. Head to the Whisps Website now to check them out!
