Wedding Goals at Red Rock Canyon

June 21, 2024

Planning a destination wedding? Look no further. We planned the most beautiful, intimate, and breathtaking wedding right outside the heart of Las Vegas. Red Rock Canyon features the most stunning views. Originally when we started planning we wanted a big wedding and then we quickly realized how stressful that would be for us. Having a micro wedding turned into exactly what we pictured!

After quite some research we found Cactus Collective Weddings. I was looking for a certain photo editing style, communication style, and all-around trust that I would be able to make our dream day happen. I set up an initial phone call with Ginger who explained the process to us and answered all questions that we had. I felt heard and knew that she understood our goal – stress-free, amazing views, and simple.

The Planning Process

Planning was easy once we found Cactus Collective! We picked the AGAVE wedding package out of the 5 packages to choose from. They have a la carte options as well to pick and choose things that are important for you! I loved the flexibility of being able to stay within budget and being able to decide what items I wanted to spend more money on, and what items I was okay with not having.

Cactus Collective AGAVE package features –

Days: Monday – Sunday
Guests: 13-30
Photo: 90 Minutes + Editing + Image Rights
Modern Minister
Bouquet and Boutonnière
On-Site Host
Complimentary Consultation with our Transportation Concierge
Complimentary Consultation with our Hotel Room Block Concierge

Once I picked out our package and completed the form, I also picked the behind-the-scenes option which includes having one of the social media team tagging along and capturing footage of the entire wedding. You then receive unedited behind-the-scenes video and raw photos within 24 hours. I LOVED this option to add on!

We were given questionnaires to fill out to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it. From details of how I wanted my bouquet to look, the ceremony, and photo lists for the photographer. These questionnaires were so helpful to make sure our vision came to life.

What did we have to book?

We didn’t have to think about too many extras to add. Cactus Collective shared a preferred vendors list with us that included hair & makeup artists, transportation, hotels, and more. We booked Amelia C & Co for hair & makeup that came right to our hotel, which was perfect. For transportation, we went with Steve Winders at Cactus Transportation Services.

There is an option to do a reception if you’d like with Gather After Events. We chose to have dinner with our friends & family on the strip and go out that evening!

We made sure to fill out our marriage license form online before arriving in Las Vegas, and it was our first stop once we arrived.

Truly, I was so amazed with how little planning I had to do, and what we got out of the experience! It was the most beautiful day of my life, yet so effortlessly put together.

Our First Look

Cactus Collective gives you the option to do a first look at the location of your choice if you’d like to see each other when you’re walking down the aisle, which I think makes for great photos! We chose to see each other at the hotel before leaving and getting on the bus together, since we were riding together, it made the most sense!

I was so nervous the entire day! I wanted everything to go perfect and I couldn’t wait to marry Brandon. When I finally saw him, he turned around as I walked in and instantly started crying. If you know Brandon, you know he isn’t a cryer and I didn’t think I would get this reaction. It was the sweetest moment (along with the crying at the ceremony). My nerves were instantly calmed as soon I saw him, and the excitement truly set in.

The Ceremony

Once we arrived at Red Rock Canyon, we met our on-site coordinator, Tayla, and talked about last-minute details. We met with our officiant, Shimura, and went over our marriage license and how to obtain it once we got home. Our witness, Garrett, came over and signed our marriage license and our guests started to walk to the location.

We decided we wanted to walk down the aisle together and I wanted to stand on the nontraditional side for a bride (to show off my braid!). We chose not to write vows, and thank goodness we didn’t because when I tell you that Brandon was a mess the entire day, he would have cried his way through them! Ha ha!

Our ceremony was short and sweet and our officiant was amazing. The smallest details that we shared with our wedding coordinators were thrown into our ceremony, from us being born at the same hospital to our grandmothers going to the same hair salon. I was so impressed and thankful that our team took the time to listen and add those special moments for us.

After the ceremony, we were introduced as Mr & Mrs. Williams and headed right into family photos! This was a breeze as our on-site coordinator had our photo list and we went right through our family & friends’ photos. Tayla brought our family & friends down to a mini reception area while we stayed back to start our couple photos!

The Mini Reception

We had the cutest setup for our mini reception featuring donuts, mimosas, and a beautiful backdrop. We headed down from our couple photos and our friends & family were ready to greet us with mimosas in hand! Elodie, who set up everything, did a beautiful job. The natural vibes of the mountains with the wood fence created beautiful scenery, while the gold cart created for an elegant table.

Brandon shook up the champagne which made for some really fun photos! Our friends & family loved the mimosas & donuts idea! We are not cake eaters so we loved the Cactus Collective have another option!

The donuts were delicious and we were able to bring them back with us to have a late-night snack!

Our Photography

After saying “I do” in a simple and stunning ceremony, we gallivanted around Red Rock Canyon and had the best time snapping photos. Our photographer Amy and our behind-the-scenes coordinator Ashlyn had us laughing the entire time! My cheeks hurt so bad from laughing at one point, this is when you know that you are having the best day ever.

I still can’t pick the top 3 of my favorite photos, maybe the top 15 but I am truly in love with all of them. We snuck away after our mini reception to grab some more photos before we ended our day with the Cactus Collective team.

One of my favorite parts of our photography team was getting hyped up the ENTIRE time! When I tell you these girls should be full-time hype girls, I’m not lying!

I can’t say enough good things about the team we worked with at Cactus Collective and always being able to get any questions answered very quickly. I never felt stressed during the process; it was the perfect micro-destination wedding. Our friends and family got an awesome vacation out of it, and we got to marry each other!

If Red Rock Canyon isn’t for you, they have other locations that are just as beautiful and may have exactly what you are looking for.

Ashley
