What is your perfect day? Whether it be relaxing on a beach, jet-skiing around a private or going down the biggest water slide in North America, Royal Caribbean has something for everyone. Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas has undergone a $200 million dollar renovation, and it will not let you down.
The new revamped island is a must stop on your next cruise, offering the ultimate experience for you and your family. Perfect Day at CocoCay features beautiful beaches, azure water, water slides, zip-lining and the most breathtaking helium balloon experience.
Here is just a few of what you will see when you arrive:
- Thrill Waterpark
- Daredevil’s Tower featuring, Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest waterslide in North America.
- Family Tower, a waterslide experience for families and kids with 6 slides.
- Wave Pool, the Caribbean’s largest wave pool and a kid-friendly obstacle course pool.
- Adventure Pool, kid-friendly obstacle course pool.
- Zip Line, 1,600 feet long over the waterpark.
- Captain Jack’s Grill
- Snack Shack
- Splash Away Bay
- Captain Jill’s Galleon
- Chill Island
- Oasis Lagoon freshwater pool and bar
- The beach
- Chill Grill
- Beach Side Cabanas
- Up, Up and Away helium balloon
- Rise 450 feet above Perfect Day at CocoCay in a colorful helium balloon and provides the highest vantage point in the Caribbean.
- South Beach
- Offering volleyball, beachside basketball, soccer, paddle boarding, glass-bottom kayaking and zorbing in an inflatable zorb ball.
- Coco Beach Club
- Oceanfront infinity pool, upgraded cuisine and the only overwater cabanas in the Bahamas.
Take a left when you walk into the park and you will head to Chill Island. This area is complimentary for anyone who is visit Perfect Day and this area features complimentary beach chairs and you can relax or check out water sport activities.
At the Snorkel shack you will find rentals for snorkel equipment and floats. Looking for a little bit of a thrill on the chill side? Rent a jet ski and check out the oceans surrounding the island.
Oasis Lagoon
This had to have been one of my favorite places to hangout and sip a pineapple drink. Oasis Lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. This is the perfect place to spend lounging, getting drinks from the swim up bar or having the servers that walk around the area, bring you a drink. Your drink package from the shop carries over to the island, so drink up!
The pool area is surrounded by beach chairs and shady areas under palm trees. The lagoon is for all ages, with areas of shallow water for your little ones to play and enjoy and deeper areas for the adults to enjoy the bar.
This lagoon holds 800,000 gallons of freshwater, so don’t worry… there is room for all!
Straw Market
When on vacation, picking up souvenirs for your family or even yourself is a must. There is a ton of little shops in this area of Chill Island with a ton to choose from. Your seapass will not work to charge items to your room and there was not a credit card option, so make sure to have cash ready to go to pick up your goods!
Thrill Waterpark
I am all about thrills and trying new things, even though I screamed most of the Thrill Waterpark side! This is the perfect area for the thrill seeker and includes 13 waterslides, a wave pool, snack shack and more.
Thrill Waterpark is a cost that includes all of the water-slides, beach chair use and fun all day. If you want a more private experience you can rent a private cabana for your family. Other add-on fees include Zip lining and Up, Up & Away. You can pre-book your Waterpark admission onboard and then swipe your SeaPass card to enter the area. A wristband system allows you to re-enter as often as you like.
- Full day Thrill Waterpark Admission $44-$99 per person depending upon the season
- Half day admission $39-$74 also available
- Ages 0-3 go free
- Thrill Waterpark and Zip Line $99-$179This waterslide is one of the first things that you see when you get to the island. The platform height is 135 feet and is the tallest waterslide in North America. 200 steps to the top, for a 12 second plunge to the bottom. On Daredevil’s peak there is 6 other water slides, all which we tried out! The Dueling Demons Waterslides was another adrenaline rush that drops out under your feet and you fly down the slide! Talk about more thrills!
- While we waited in line, I didn’t hear many people screaming on the way down. I made the mistake thinking I wouldn’t scream… that bad. I am pretty sure the whole park heard me scream down, but it was such an adrenaline rush!
Check out what we loved about Thrill Waterpark!
Daredevil’s Peak Waterslide
The Slingshot Waterslide
If you’re looking to defy gravity and have a huge thrill this is for you! I went backwards down it and we had a blast. I am pretty certain my sister laughed the entire down while I screamed!
Up, Up, and Away
You can see Up, Up and Away from most anywhere on the island when it is in the air. This helium balloon rises 450 feet into the air and will give you the most amazing view of the island. The views are breathtaking and this was one of my favorite activities on the island.
Zip Line
Looking for another thrill? Head over to the Zip Line area and enjoy 1,600 feet of fun. There is three different platforms that you take off from and you get the best views from around the island. The last platform you choose between going through the water fountain and soaring by it. I chose to soar, and my sister went through the fountain… and got soaked!
I don’t love heights, so this was pretty thrilling for me but once I got going, it was a blast!
Pricing ranges from $79-139. Combination tickets can also be purchased for a full day waterpark and zipline ($99-$179 per person) or a half day waterpark and zipline ($89-$149).
Captain Jill’s Galleon & Splashaway Bay
These two areas are perfect for kiddos featuring a pirate ship with water cannons and three slides. Once you’re done with the fun, head over to Splashaway Bay and you will find slides, sprayers and dumping buckets that will surely get you wet. This area is geared more towards the little ones.
South Beach
There area is on the sandy beach featuring volleyball, basketball, kayaling, paddle boarding and more. Make sure to relax after and take a swim!
Coco Beach Club
This area opens at the end of 2019 and will be an exclusive area on the island. Featuring over water cabanas, which is a first for the Bahamas. I am so looking forward to seeing this area once it opens!
Dining on Perfect Day CocoCay
Perfect Day CocoCay has 5 complimentary dining locations on the island. Your food & beverage package that you purchased on this ship carries over to the island.
Chill Grill on the Chill Island side offers everything from American specialties, sandwiches, and Caribbean food. Finish off your lunch with an ice cream cone.
Skipper’s Grill is another lunch option on the island. There are also 3 Snack Shacks located throughout the island including at South Beach and the Thrill Waterpark. These snack shacks have the best mozzarella sticks!
We finished off our day at Captain Jack’s where you can enjoy chicken wings, and a cold beverage while swinging on a rope swing.
Perfect Day at CocoCay Price List
Once you arrive to the island, you will find that may of the attractions are free to you, but there is a handful of items that you can add on to enhance your trip. I would totally suggest to invest and see everything you can, the island is a beautiful experience and one you don’t want to miss out on.
Here is a price list below from Royal Caribbean. Prices will vary depending on your ship, children or half-day pricing. Be sure to check out your price list when booking your trip.
We had a blast at CocoCay and are already planning our next trip back with the kiddos. A must see destination, so make sure to include this stop on your next cruise with Royal Caribbean! We truly had a Perfect Day at CoCoCay!
