Pregnancy is a whirlwind of emotions, especially in the first trimester. Your body gets all out of whack, and the hormones take over. With my first pregnancy, I had it pretty easy and the only symptom I had besides the positive test was sore breasts. With my second pregnancy though, I was sick every single day and looked like crap!
Here are my first-trimester must-have essentials that got me through!
1.Prenatal Vitamins
Prenatals are so important for both you and your baby and these prenatal gummies were a lifesaver for me! My doctor prescribed me prenatals that were pills, but with how sick I was I would just throw them up right after or gag when I was taking them. These actually tasted good and were OKed by my OB. Get yours here!
2. Ginger Ale
Anyone knows that when you are sick, gingerale is a must have item in your house. Being sick during pregnancy is 10x worse. Get yours here!
3. Peppermint
I made sure to always have peppermints at my work desk, in the car, in my purse… pretty much wherever I was going to be. As soon as I felt nausea coming on, I would pop one in. Get yours here!
4. Jolly Ranchers
Jolly Ranchers were another must that I would have in my purse. The almost gave me instant relief. Get yours here!
5. Sea-Band
I had so many people recommend this Sea Band to me, and it was the last thing I tried. Honestly, I was skeptical, but this is a great alternative for moms that want a more holistic approach.
6. Preggo Pops
I’ve heard mamas say they swear by these, and you can easily get them at Amazon, Wal-mart, Walgreens or CVS.
7. Pregnancy Journal
Having a pregnancy journal was so important to me. Life gets so many and you will never remember those little moments, cravings, baby kicks 10 years down the road, so document while you’re in the moment.
8. Bio-Oil
Bio-Oil was the first thing on my list to get with both pregnancies. I got 0 stretch marks and I definitely attribute that to bio-oil, good water intake, and good genes. I still use it post pregnancy because I love the smell of it after getting out of the shower.
9. Pregnancy Books
Being pregnant especially for the first time you have so many questions. How should I be feeling? When will I feel the baby kick? I love this book because it goes week by week with you and is a good read for both mom & dad! Get yours on Amazon here!
10. What To Expect App
Along with the book above, you’ll want to download the what to expect app. This is great because you can read it on the go and you plug in your due date and will get weekly updates. My favorite is getting to read about how big baby is compared to a vegetable. Plus there is also great checklists on there to help you stay prepared!
11. Leggings
I mean let’s be real, leggings are a must have in life, pregnant or not. The first trimester can sometimes be an uncomfortable time and an in between. No one may know that you are pregnant, but buttoning your jeans may be a little tough. Leggings, especially maternity leggings are a must-have for comfort.
12. Water Bottles
Stay hydrating and getting your water is one of the most important things in pregnancy! What better than this adorable mama bear water bottle?
What items could you not live without in your first trimester?

Ashley

March 12, 2018 at 1:27 pmI’d also add ginger chews! You can eat them like candy or melt them into tea. It’s the only thing that helped keep my nausea at bay.
