CoCo Key Water Park Boston Mini Vacation

February 1, 2018
CoCo Key Waterpark Boston Maine Blogger

In search for the perfect mini family vacation? Look no further! I did a lot of research when looking into a mini vacation for Madison to enjoy, but wanted it somewhere within a few hours driving distance. Living in Southern Maine that gave us a lot of options, and instantly CoCo Key Water park popped up in my google search. It is located in Danvers, Massachusetts so coming from Maine this was only a two hour drive for us, and mostly all highway driving.

The Double Tree by Hilton Boston North Shore offers Splash & stay Packages which makes for the perfect weekend getaway so you can make the most out of the waterpark and surrounding areas. CoCo Key Water Park is open year round with many signature water slides and attractions, pools, a relaxing lazy river, an arcade, on-site dining and complimentary parking.

When arriving to the hotel we were greeted by a very polite and humorous front desk team member. Once checked in, he offered us warm cookies, which were delicious!

As soon as we got to our hotel room, which was on the first floor we walked into one room with two twin size toddler beds and another room with a large king bed. The First thing that Madison noticed was a bag waiting for her on the bed filled with goodies waiting for her! She was VERY excited about this!

The room was super spacious and included –

· One King Bed

· 2 Toddler Beds

· Mini-Fridge

· Microwave

· Two TVs

· Two dressers

· 24-hour access complimentary Xfinity high speed internet

· Cable Television with on-demand movies and premium channels

· Telephone with data port & voicemail

· Iron & ironing board

· Hairy dryer & bath amenities

· Alarm Clock Radio

· Smoke-free environment

We immediately ventured off to the water park and we were instantly amazed! Right when you walk in you can see everything the park has to offer and the warm 84 degree weather is perfect. We went around 3 so it was very busy when we got there but we were able to find a chair to put our items on, and went off to explore.

Our First stop was at the Dip-In Theatre –

This area features a zero depth entry pool, kiddie slides, water sprouts, and water-dumping buckets. The pool is the perfect area for little ones under 48” and the slides perfect for them to go down by themselves.

Parrot’s Perch Play Area –

This play area was so much fun! If you want to splash around, and get wet around every corner with multiple water slides to go on, this area is for you! This may have been Madison’s favorite area as she kept running up the levels to the slides. On top of this jungle gym is a huge bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water every few minutes, so you see eyes constantly checking to see when it’s about to come down!

Coconut Grove Adventure River –

This lazy river is a nice relaxing ride around the whole water park. Beware though, there is water guns in the Parrot’s Perch Play Area that shoots water right onto the river for a surprise water attack! We floated around on the tubes and Madison sat on top of me, and it was so relaxing that she actually fell asleep on me during this!

Shark Slam, Gator Gush, Barracuda Blast & Pelican Plunge –

These 4 water slides are great for kiddos over 48”. Madison unfortunately is only 45” so we had to skip out on this one, but I had a chance to go down with my younger sister and had a blast. These actually go outside of the building and are very fast!
Coral Reef Canyon –

This area was very busy with a lot of the older kids. There is water basketball and a huge pool to swim and play in. There is also a lily pad obstacle course which the kids were loving.

Palm Grotto Indoor/Outdoor Spa –

A nice relaxing area with giant whirlpools for ages 16 and older. There is a swim-through passage to go outdoors when the weather permits.

Outdoor Splash Pad –

This area was not opened currently because is winter time but we could see it out the windows. This would be great for spending the day outside with the kids, and offers a large outdoor tanning deck for the adults.

Key Quest Arcade –

The arcade is right outside of the entrance to the water park, and kids could spend hours inside with all of the games!

Saturday night we left the hotel and enjoyed dinner at Bertucci’s, which is one of our family favorite. The brick oven pizza is to die for! We came back to the hotel to relax and slept great. The beds were super comfy. When we arrived back to the hotel we were surprised with a special delivery from the hotel of some fruit, cheese and crackers. Madison was very excited about this! The beds were super comfy and we all passed right out.

On Sunday we spent the entire day at the park so for breakfast we stopped at the hotel Coffee shop and enjoyed Starbucks with muffins and for lunch we enjoyed a quick bite at the Gator Grab & Grab which featured many options for little ones such as cheese sticks, apple slices, and more!

We had an awesome mini vacation, and I would 100% recommend The Double Tree by Hilton Boston North Shore & CoCo Key for your family vacation. Madison is already asking when we are going to be going back!

Ashley
